Jacob Lane quotes

Everytime I share with a coworker or friend something that Jacob says, the resounding question (after the laughter subsides) is "are you writing this stuff down?!?"

So here are a few of the latest:

After Sunday School, Jacob showed me a picture he drew of Zacheus in the tree - I asked him to tell me the story and he said, "the little boy went into the tree to see Jesus and Jesus told him to come down from the tree b/c he wanted to go have dinner at his house".

Me: Jacob, do you know where Jesus lives?
Jacob: Yes (pause)
Jacob: Mexico
Me: Well, actually he lives in Heaven - and also in your heart.
Jacob: So, there are 2 Jesuses?

Jacob to his teacher at school: Miss Hannah - I am only going to play with one person today and she is beautiful. And that is Haley.

Jacob at bedtime: Mommy, when you get married you have to hug and kiss each other...but first, you have to DANCE.

Me: Jacob, Haley has on a pink party dress today for the preschool prom
Jacob: Oh my goodness, she is gonna be so beautiful, I'm going to marry her today.

Me: Jacob, you should wear your nice brown shoes for the dance party instead of your tennis shoes.
Jacob: Yes. I'm gonna be nice and smoooth.

When visiting his great grandmother at the nursing home, he noticed quite a few elderly people and pictures of Jesus - he turned to his grandmother and said "Is this heaven??!?"
What a character!

July photos

I slacked off on my blogging duties in July, but I've got a few snapshots so you can see Addison's little personality developing. And Jacob's hasn't changed much - he's still a ham!
Little Addie just loves cuddling and getting kisses!

She has started pulling up on everything - Jacob is really starting to enjoy actually playing with her - he has found a captive audience. She laughs at virtually everything he does!

Here he is showing her how to play with her (his old) toys!
Addison often wakes up with a huge mohawk. It is hilarious and sort of adorable!
One night all 3 of us fell asleep together in the black chair. Addison migrates to be as close to her brother as possible!

Here she is checking out his ear. I love the expression on his face....
Here is my son just minutes after telling me he didn't need a nap. He was goofing around and hanging his head off of the couch - next time I looked over at him - he was conked out! Don't worry - we propped him back up after snapping the photo!

This picture just captures her happy go lucky personality - she is just eating breakfast before school here, but she is SO happy. This is how she acts about 95% of the time!
Jeff was out of town for a couple of nights and I let both of the kids sleep with me. I caught them holding hands in their sleep. They are darling.

I cannot believe that he is already 5. I still vividly remember the moment that I first saw him. His gorgeous little face. I remember him holding my finger and resting his exhausted little head on my chest. We stared and stared at each other when he was awake, and when he was sleeping, I stared some more. That perfect miracle that God sent to me - my son. The past 5 years have been filled with every emotion imaginable thanks to that little boy: joy, sadness, fear, amazement, pride, guilt, anger, exhaustion, worry, happiness, contentment, peace, and love greater than I could have ever imagined. I am truly so proud that he is my son - he is such a blessing in my life.
