Finally, a post about the new Baby GIRL Lane

July 28th was a big day for us - one of my best friends had her 2nd child (Avery) on one wing of the hospital... and on the other wing, we had our big ultrasound and found out the new little baby is a GIRL!!! We are very excited to have one of each, and just a little nervous thinking about a teenage girl! Maybe she will be absolutely nothing like I was and we don't need to worry! We've got some time before we get to that...

Here are some pics of our baby girl's growth so far: May 2008 - blob

June 2008 - Head is on the left, profile shot

June 2008 - Head is on the left facing camera - she looks like an alien!

July 2008 - This shows her spine - head is on the right facing down

July 2008 - Her head is on the right, belly on the left - she's looking at the camera and looks like a skeleton! We have one just like this of Jacob - so I'm assured that she is not ACTUALLY a skeleton...

Here is the official "girl" shot - you are looking at her from underneath - like she is sitting on the camera. Her legs are on the left, and her bottom is on the right. No turtle in sight ; )

This is my favorite - You can see her profile (right) with her hand on top of her head. You can kind of tell her legs are curled up too. I'm thinking she looks like Jacob - what do you think?

We are very excited about the new arrival and ask for your continued prayers for her health, my health, and the huge adjustment another kiddo will be for all 3 of us! God Bless!

Jacob's SpiderMan birthday party

We had Jacob's 4th birthday party at The Children's Museum this year. The theme was SpiderMan! It was a very fun party. For the first hour or so, the kids played in the museum which has a music room, shopping, painting, puppets, costumes, blocks, trains, and a big rocket to climb in.

After the playing, the kids all went upstairs to the party room and had cake, ice cream, and presents. It was a really fun party, and we didn't even have to clean the house!

This is Ainsley, Jackson, Jacob, and Wyatt on one side of the table - and his school friends Wil, Damien, Michael, Marlena, and Ashley on the other.

Lots of presents!

Cool cake!

Here are a couple of photos from the night before the party - Jacob is wearing the new Hawaiian shirt his Nana and Papa brought him from Hawaii!

This is my official 4 month pregnant photo. I'm showing a lot sooner than I did with Jacob!

Jacob is getting excited about the baby - he keeps asking when it will be her birthday?!?! 5 more months is a long time to wait for a little kid. I hope he's still excited when December finally arrives!

Upgrades

Jeff and I finally let go of the 1999 CR-V that he was driving when we met. He got upgraded to the 2003 Escape, and I am the proud driver of a mom mobile. It's a 2007 Nissan Quest and we really like it. Jacob loves riding in the "new car" and especially appreciates the fact that we can play movies on the DVD player during long trips.

We also decided it was about time to upgrade our bedroom furniture. Up until now, we had been using Jeff's old furniture that he grew up with, a couple of mismatched end tables, and a bed on a metal bed frame. We got a matching set of furniture, some matching lamps and painted the walls. We love it!

Dance Fever

We attended a wedding of a friend I used to work with, and Jacob had a blast! He was pretty bored during the ceremony and the early part of the reception until he took full advantage of the disposable cameras on the tables! He probably took two whole rolls of photos, including one of the urinal in the bathroom! I'm sure the bride will appreciate having those for her album!!!

After playing with the cameras, it was finally time to dance - He was SO excited. He especially wanted to dance with the princess!
He got his wish, and then she passed him off to a little princess!

After that, he was on his own and tearing up the dance floor. In the end, he settled for a dance with his mommy! He was such a ham - I wish I had had the video camera...

4th of July parade

Jacob's school had a 4th of July parade to celebrate America's birthday. It was pretty adorable. Each class marched around the gym (infants were pushed in their cribs!!!), and then they all sang Happy Birthday to America...

Jacob's 4th birthday!

On Jacob's birthday, we went to the school around 3pm to celebrate with his friends - we had oreos and ice cream and the kids sang "Happy Birthday". We forgot to take any pictures! After the quick celebration, we left and went straight to Toys R Us to get Jacob's present. A brand new big boy bike with helmet and pads. We'll post pictures of that later!

After getting his present, we went to dinner at Chuck E Cheese and played lots of games.

Jacob had a blast on his birthday - and so did Mom and Dad. It's hard to believe it's been 4 years since he was born - I remember that day with total clarity! It goes so fast! I am very proud of the little boy he has become!
