Nana's Birthday

My mom and dad came for a quick visit for my mom's birthday - We had a nice Itallian dinner and chocolate cake and ice cream! Of course, no one can come to visit without volunteering to help with Addison's room, so the guys put the crib together~

Addison's room is really coming together, and I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as it is finished. We're way behind where we were by now with Jacob's room - I think his was done when I was about 29 or 30 weeks along. I'm already 32 weeks and little Addie's room is not really even close yet! I guess as long as it's done before she arrives we'll be okay!

Soccer

Jacob is now old enough for youth league soccer! He's still on the young side of the group, so he's not ALWAYS paying attention, but he's doing pretty well and having fun. He has practice once a week and a game every Saturday. It's been really fun - we have 3 more games left for the season, so I may post some more photos before it's over. Here are some from his first practice and first game:

We're all really enjoying the games - it's getting us ready for real sports to come later on!

Crazy Illness

Most of you know that Jacob got really sick in early September with a virus that caused all sorts of problems for him. He ran a fever for 5 days even on an antibiotic, then had coughing fits that we could not control. He ended up in the ER because he just could not stop coughing one evening for 45 minutes straight. He couldn't talk or catch his breath at all the whole time. It was pretty frightening. They took great care of him at the hospital and within no time he was back to happy, silly Jacob - flirting with all of the nurses. Jeff and I missed a lot of work during the illness, and I had just started my new job - so we were quite stressed. Well, a couple of days later, Jacob broke out into a bizarre rash that would come and go and move to different places on his body (I'll spare you the photos) - unable to send him to school, and unable to miss any more work, we called for reinforcements! Jeff's mom was able to come and stay with us for a week so that Jacob could recover at home and not get exposed to any more viruses while his immune system was so weak. It worked out that she was able to be here for Jeff's birthday as well as Hurricane IKE! She was stranded here for a couple of extra days, so she decided to paint the kids' rooms!!! Thank you Mimi for all of your help!

Here are my 6 month photos of Baby Addison. She is growing right on track - and seems to be VERY active and healthy. Keep us in your prayers for the next few months!

First Day of School

Jacob is now officially in Pre-K! We cannot believe how quickly he is growing up. He is one of the tallest in his class even though he is the youngest. He has matured so much over the past year and is just such a little grownup now (with the occassional tantrum thrown in). Here are a couple of photos from his first day of Pre-K!

Swim lessons

My child is truly a water baby. I don't know if it's because he was born in the summer, but like his Mom - he LOVES the water. This summer - we spent a lot of time at the pool, and Jacob took swimming lessons - he learned about water safety, how to freestyle, back stroke, float, hold his breath under water, and dive for rings. He absolutely LOVES being submerged under the water. If he didn't have to breathe, he'd never come up! He actually missed a lot of what the teacher had to say b/c he was constantly under water. But, he graduated anyway ~ and next summer, he'll be in the Frog class!

It was really so much fun for his Dad and me to watch him swimming! Watch out Michael Phelps!

Yoga for pregnant moms - and little kids?

I purchased a pregnant yoga video to try to stay in shape and keep my circulation going good - and it's a pretty fun routine. I feel totally relaxed afterwards and usually fall asleep at the end of the video! Well, one evening Jacob decided it looked like fun and he did about 20 minutes of the video right along with me!!! It was so hilarious, of course we had to take some photos! (sorry about the no pants...)

He is such a riot!!!

Lazy weekend

We had a very lazy weekend in early August where we stayed home the whole weekend. The main thing we accomplished was cleaning out the playroom closet (that will be Addison's room) -which led to Jacob trying out some instruments and old toys he hadn't touched in a while...

He's just such a little character!
